Our next EPIc Women’s Retreat to empower women living with pain to live well will be held August 17-19th in the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We will come together to share our stories and learn from one another as we make sense of pain and are empowered to get back to what matters to us.
What is this EPIc Retreat all about?
Our EPIc Retreats provide experiential learning in a safe, serene, natural environment. EPIc guests are free to be themselves as they are heard and understood, supported and encouraged while surrounded by others who understand what it’s like to live with pain.
We support and encourage one another as we explore pain science through a lived experience lens. We relate the science to our stories, discuss the relevance to our daily lives, and discover how we can use that knowledge to craft meaningful and accessible living well strategies.
The EPIc Women’s Retreat is set amidst the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Guests stay in a large, comfortably appointed cabin at Snow Mountain Ranch at an elevation of ~9000′ with views of mountains, meadows and the Continental Divide.
Hiking during the October 2017 Retreat
All sessions are held in the tranquility of the great room with endless views and comfortable seating options. The atmosphere itself is peaceful, relaxing, and healing.
Meals and lodging
All meals are provided in the large communal kitchen and dining spaces or in the on-site dining hall.
There are up to two guests per room. Rooms are large, comfortable and equipped with two queen beds or bunk beds.
There is plenty of time for sharing stories, getting to know one another, and socializing as well as time for solitude, relaxation, and reflection. And of course there is time for the sessions as well!
EPIc Retreat Sessions
There will also be a bit of adventure for those who are up for it and want to participate. All activities will be modifiable and wheelchair accessible.
Please note that there is also no need to attend all sessions. The retreat is for you. If you want quiet time away from the group or need a few moments to lie down and rest, your room is always just steps away. Or you can venture out onto the endless acres of ranch property to just breathe and be, explore and discover.
Friday: Check in at Snow Mountain Ranch begins at 3:00pm on Friday. Our first, very informal session will start around 4:30. Dinner is served around 6:30pm.
Saturday: A full day of sessions, strategies, socializing, family style meals, nature, rest and reflection.
Sunday: One last movement session before breakfast and checkout at 10:00am. There will be an optional hike (or other activity, weather dependent) at 10am followed by an optional brunch/lunch at Devil’s Thumb Ranch for anyone who wants to hang out a bit more before heading home.
Cost: Pay-it-forward with a donation
EPIc Retreats are funded by donations and grants.
We understand that living with pain can also mean living with limited finances. In order to make our experiential learning retreats available to everyone, we operate under a Pay-It-Forward model, where retreat participants make a donation within their means to allow for other individuals to attend future retreats.
This means that each person who attends our retreats had that opportunity made available by those who came before them. And that their tax-deductible donations will ensure future participants will be able to attend.
Our per person cost to run each retreat is $749, which covers lodging, food, materials, activities, and programming.
If it is within your means to cover the full cost of tuition, boarding, and lodging, please consider doing so. If is not within your means, please make a donation in an amount you are able to. Every little bit counts. A tax-deductible donation will be requested during registration and can be of any amount.
**Please note, travel is not included in these totals and is not covered by Endless Possibilities Initiative**
We are so incredibly grateful to the Grand Foundation and all of our donors for helping us make our EPIc retreats possible!
